Feds bust identity-theft ring

Federal inspectors today cracked an identity-theft ring that obtained the personal information of 10,000 credit card holders, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

Shoppers in Data Breach
A data tape containing information on 650,000 retail customers went missing from the Iron Mountain data storage company's vaults in October, the company reports. The missing tape contains personal information from customers of J.C. Penney and 100 other retailers, including 150,000 Social Security numbers.

Center City Identity Theft Scheme Foiled
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― State police thwarted an attempted identity theft scheme in Philadelphia.
